Fees & Insurance

I see therapy as an investment in your well-being and your future. We also know that conversations about money matter — and we aim to make them clear, transparent, and respectful. Here’s how my policies work.

Fees

Please contact me to discuss my current fee structure. We’ll talk openly about fees from the very beginning, so there are no surprises along the way. Longer sessions are billed at a higher rate, and these details will always be discussed and agreed upon in advance.

Insurance

Mine is an out-of-network practice and I do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients are able to obtain partial reimbursement from their insurance companies.

If you’d like to use your insurance, here’s how it usually works:

  • You pay me directly for each session.

  • I provide you with a monthly “superbill” (an invoice with the necessary codes).

  • You submit the superbill to your insurance company.

  • If your plan includes out-of-network coverage, your insurer will typically reimburse you directly.

The amount you receive back depends on your plan. We encourage you to call your insurance provider and ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient psychotherapy?

  • What percentage of the session fee is reimbursed?

  • Is there a deductible I need to meet first?

  • How do I submit claims for reimbursement?

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

Many clients use FSA or HSA funds to pay for therapy. Check with your plan to see if this is an option for you.

Why I Work This Way

  • By staying out-of-network, we’re able to:

  • Protect your privacy — I don’t have to share detailed personal information with insurers.

  • Focus fully on the kind of therapy we believe in, without insurance company restrictions.

  • Shape the length and depth of therapy around your needs, not billing codes.

We want financial conversations to feel clear and respectful. If you have questions about fees, reimbursement, or payment options, please reach out — we’ll be glad to talk them through with you.
